Senior HSE Advisor
Job description
We are looking for a talented Senior HSE Advisor to join our team in Mississauga or Ottawa, ON.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Provide hands-on support to sites across the region in implementing health, safety, and environmental and sustainability programs, initiatives, and tools that drive regional objectives and performance targets.
- Partner with global teams to represent the region and contribute to the continuous improvement of HSE programs, policies, procedures, and best practices that strengthen operational excellence.
- Guide and support sites in implementing effective hazard and risk controls through administrative controls, engineering solutions, procedures, training, education, and awareness initiatives.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve health, safety, and environmental challenges while promoting standardization and the adoption of best practices across the region.
- Lead or participate in regional audits, ensuring sites are prepared before assessments and supported afterward to achieve and maintain compliance and conformance requirements.
- Coach and mentor service operations stakeholders on key health, safety, and environmental deliverables, fostering capability development and supporting long-term improvements to HSE culture
- Provide hands-on support during the investigation of significant incidents, helping sites meet reporting requirements and implement corrective actions that reduce hazards and risks of future incidents
- Manage relationships with regional suppliers and consultants, execute communication strategies that align with global objectives, and regularly travel to regional sites to support business needs and drive continuous improvement.

- Apply strong risk assessment and risk control expertise to identify hazards, evaluate potential impacts, and implement sustainable controls that protect employees, communities, and the environment.
- Lead high-quality incident investigations and root cause analyses, ensuring accurate reporting, effective corrective actions, and the prevention of recurring incidents.
- Promote a positive health, safety, and environmental culture by coaching leaders and employees, encouraging accountability, and driving engagement in safety and sustainability programs.
- Drive results through continuous improvement, standardization, and optimization of work processes, helping sites achieve compliance objectives while improving operational performance.
- Bring a global mindset and appreciation for diverse perspectives, championing innovation and best practices that support regional needs while aligning with global strategies and organizational objectives.Education, Licenses, Certifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or university equivalent required. Health and Safety and/or Environmental degree preferred. Experience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of Health, Safety, and Environmental experience.
- Certification or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety from a recognized training institution.
- Onsite position reporting 3 days/week to the Mississauga branch.
- Regular travel 25% of the time to the 4 other branch locations in the Central Canada/Atlantic Area.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be a self-starter and motivated to work independently to accomplish the deliverables.
- Will consider candidates who reside in Ottawa. Due to the customer-facing nature of this role and the requirements of the Ottawa market, candidates must be fluent in both English and French.
- Candidates who have a CRSP designation are preferred.
- Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Significant relevant HSE experience required. 5-7 years of experience. Previous experience working across various countries within the region preferred. Progress toward professional certification, preferred.
Ontario Pay Transparency
- The annual salary for this position is $110,000– $158,000
- This role includes benefits (Health, Dental, Vision, pension plan) starting on your first day. It does include variable compensation of 12%
