Software Development Engineer II, AWS Marketplace

As a SDE II on the AWS Marketplace team, you will design and build large-scale distributed systems that power a multi-billion dollar commerce platform used by customers and partners

worldwide. You'll own critical components end-to-end — from architecture through delivery — and drive technical direction that directly impacts AWS's growth.

• Lead the design and implementation of highly available, scalable services that handle millions of transactions
• Define technical strategy and mentor engineers across the team
• Partner with product, business, and partner teams to translate complex requirements into elegant technical solutions
• Raise the bar on engineering excellence through code reviews, operational best practices, and architectural guidance

Basic

qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• 2+ years of experience designing and building distributed systems
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Java, Python, TypeScript, etc.)
• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Preferred

qualifications

• Experience with AWS services (EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, etc.)
• Track record of delivering large-scale, customer-facing systems
• Experience with commerce, marketplace, or SaaS platforms
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence without authority
