Key
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day delivery of accounting operations across the company and lead, coach and develop the local accounting team.
- Manage and coordinate the operational monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely delivery to the Head of Financial Accounting in accordance with IFRS and German GAAP.
- Oversee the general ledger and sub-ledgers, including reconciliations, accruals, provisions, intercompany accounting and balance sheet substantiation.
- Prepare key balance sheet, cash flow and foreign exchange reporting for EMEA Finance and local management.
- Support and coordinate the operational preparation of statutory financial statements, as well as consolidation and management reporting requirements.
- Execute and monitor accounting controls within the established governance framework and ensure compliance with finance policies and documentation standards.
- Manage the day-to-day coordination of external and internal audits, including evidence provision, issue tracking and follow-up of agreed actions.
- Act as a key finance process expert (f/m/d) for SAP S/4HANA, particularly across FI/MM/CO and integrated accounting processes.
- Support project initiatives such as the implementation of digital accounting solutions, e-invoicing and scalable close-management practices.
- Maintain process documentation, control narratives and work instructions in accordance with applicable standards and the governance framework.
Your Profile:
- Extensive professional experience in accounting or financial reporting, ideally gained in an international or matrix organisation.
- Degree in finance, accounting, business administration or a comparable qualification; a recognised accounting qualification is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and German GAAP, with practical experience in monthly closing, statutory accounts, reconciliations, accounting controls and audits.
- Previous experience in leading, supervising or coordinating an accounting team.
- Strong SAP knowledge, preferably SAP S/4HANA with experience in FI/MM/CO; understanding of integrated MM and reporting processes is an advantage.
- Advanced Excel and Microsoft 365 skills.
- Good command of German and English
