Bruker Nano Surfaces and Metrology (BNSM) provides advanced tools for surface and materials characterization across semiconductor, materials science, life science, and industrial applications. Our portfolio includes atomic force microscopes (AFMs), nanoIR spectrometers, stylus and optical profilometers, ellipsometry and reflectometry systems, in-situ and stand-alone nanomechanical testers, mechanical and tribological testers, and a comprehensive suite of semiconductor research and manufacturing tools.

Responsibilities
Summary of Responsibilities
The DACH Sales Manager will provide dedicated leadership for the entire Bruker Nano Surfaces and Metrology (BNSM) portfolio across Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The role is responsible for strategic planning, pipeline growth, customer engagement, territory execution, forecast accuracy and booking performance across all BNSM product lines.
The successful candidate will directly manage, coach and develop the regional AFM and NanoIR (NI) sales team while also carrying direct sales responsibility for the TSOM portfolio, including WLI optical profilers, Dektak stylus profilers, FilmTek systems and tribology mechanical testers. The manager will strengthen territory management, accountability, sales capacity, customer relationships and execution to achieve sustainable growth across the full BNSM portfolio.
- Lead sales of the complete BNSM portfolio across the DACH region, including AFM, NanoIR and TSOM solutions, to meet or exceed business unit and regional sales targets.
- Sales territory strategic and tactical planning and execution.
- Regular reporting on status and progress to Sales Management.
Essential Functions
- Develop and execute sales growth strategies.
- Provide dedicated sales leadership across Germany, Austria and Switzerland; manage the DACH sales territory; lead the AFM and NI sales team; collaborate closely with Sales Applications, Field Service and other internal stakeholders; and translate strategic plans into disciplined territory execution, measurable accountability and improved performance across the entire BNSM portfolio.
- Carry direct sales responsibility for the TSOM portfolio across DACH, including WLI optical profilers, Dektak stylus profilers, FilmTek systems and tribology mechanical testers, with accountability for strategy, pipeline development, customer engagement, bookings and sustainable growth.
- Prospect to generate leads, qualify opportunities, visit customers and follow a defined sales process through to purchase order.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities while expanding the customer base within the assigned territory.
- Deliver product presentations at conferences, seminars, workshops and customer sites as required.
- Develop a strong understanding of the competitive and funding landscape within the territory.
- Build strong market knowledge of the semiconductor, advanced materials, research and industrial manufacturing sectors.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers and establish strategic partnerships with key accounts.
- Maintain and strengthen long-term relationships with customers, research institutes and industry partners to support sustainable business growth.
- Provide feedback to BNSM sales management on the development and execution of sales strategy.
- Maintain regular and accurate sales forecasting via CRM.
- Represent Bruker at trade fairs, conferences, workshops and customer events to promote solutions and strengthen market presence.
- Address DACH booking challenges through focused leadership, rigorous pipeline management, stronger sales capacity and timely execution of priority opportunities.
- Improve forecast accuracy, territory coverage, customer relationships and booking performance to accelerate DACH recovery and long-term growth.
- Directly manage, coach and develop the regional AFM and NI sales team, establish clear objectives and accountability, and ensure coordinated execution across the DACH territory.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve market coverage, sales effectiveness and customer outcomes.
- Support the execution of long-term business plans designed to expand market share and strengthen customer relationships across DACH.

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

- Experience with optical profilometry, ellipsometry, reflectometry or related surface metrology technologies is highly desirable.
- Competent PC skills, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain technical solutions to scientific and industrial customers.
- Strong leadership and coaching capabilities with the ability to drive accountability and performance.
- Demonstrated ability to manage sales pipelines, forecasting processes and business growth initiatives.
- Strong customer relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Able to travel both domestically and internationally on short notice (up to 60% travel as required to support the role).
- Fluent German and English language skills are required.
Educational / Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in physics, Materials Science, Engineering or another scientific discipline.
- Knowledge of Optical Profilometry, Ellipsometry and Reflectometry preferred.
- Sales experience in a related field required. Experience selling scientific instruments, analytical equipment or metrology solutions is preferred.
- Proven ability to grow business and take on additional responsibilities.
- Previous sales leadership and/or people management experience preferred.
- Experience driving regional sales performance, pipeline growth and strategic account development is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated track record of achieving revenue targets and delivering sustainable business growth.
