12-month fixed-term contract, with the option to extend for a further 12 months

Full-time, hybrid working

Are you a natural storyteller who can uncover real experiences and turn them into content that makes people stop, think and act?

Your creativity and digital marketing expertise could inspire more people to foster and help change children’s lives across the Black Country.

The Black Country Fostering Hub brings together Walsall Council, City of Wolverhampton Council, Dudley Council and Sandwell Children’s Trust to recruit and support more local foster carers. By combining regional reach with local knowledge and support, we aim to increase the number and diversity of fostering households so that more children can live close to their families and communities.

As our Digital Marketing Officer, you will turn audience insight and authentic fostering experiences into content that generates high-quality enquiries.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a new and ambitious regional service at a formative stage. You will help establish our digital approach and see the direct impact of your work on the lives of children and young people across the Black Country.

About the role

You will lead a data driven and insight-led digital approach that builds awareness of fostering and connects prospective carers with the Black Country Fostering Hub.

Working with fostering professionals, communications, web and IT colleagues, external agencies and foster carers, you will uncover authentic stories and develop compelling written, visual and video content. You will turn these stories into accessible digital experiences that help people connect with fostering and feel confident about taking the next step.

What you’ll be doing

  • Plan, deliver and optimise integrated digital marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
  • Manage and develop regional social media channels and Google Business Profile listings.
  • Create and schedule engaging written, visual and video content for social media, email marketing and digital campaigns.
  • Support digital PR paid search and social advertising, virtual events and local promotional activity.
  • Apply SEO best practice to improve visibility, engagement and user experience.
  • Maintain accurate campaign, audience and enquiry data through CRM systems.
  • Monitor campaign performance, produce clear reports and recommend improvements.
  • Identify emerging digital opportunities, trends and innovations that strengthen our approach.
  • Manage the content for the Black Country Fostering Hub website and ensure other websites are aligned.
  • Work collaboratively with partners, agencies and foster carers across the region to promote local events and generate enquiries.

About you

What matters most is your ability to connect with people, recognise a powerful story and bring it to life through authentic and inclusive digital content that inspires action.

We are looking for a creative and collaborative digital marketer with excellent communication skills with the ability to use insight to shape effective campaigns and inspire more people to begin their fostering journey.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience in digital marketing, social media, content creation or a related field, with evidence of engaging audiences.
  • Strong storytelling, copywriting and editing skills across written, visual and video content.
  • Experience delivering multi-channel campaigns and using content management, CRM and digital marketing tools.
  • Knowledge of social media, email marketing, SEO, analytics and digital advertising, using data to improve results.
  • Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills, with a commitment to inclusive communication, equality and diversity.
  • A relevant Level 4 qualification, degree or equivalent experience.

You will work as part of a joined-up regional fostering recruitment service alongside colleagues leading strategic marketing, community engagement, partnerships and local lead generation. By combining these strengths, the team will help more people across the Black Country consider fostering and begin their journey.
