Job description

Wood is looking for a Principal Piping Designer on a PAYE or PSC contract for 9 months in Reading. This position requires 5 days per week attendance on-site.

Key requirements include:

  • Ensure compliance with client specifications, company procedures, and applicable industry standards.
  • Provide piping design and plant layout expertise
  • Develop layouts to prove overall site plan
  • Develop Piping studies to prove unit layouts
  • Preparation and checking of Plot Plan and module drawings
  • 3D CAD modelling of piping and equipment as required
  • Provides the lead engineer with reports detailing the status and progress
  • Complete all assigned deliverables to meet the project schedule and discipline requirements
  • Interface with Process, Mechanical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, and Instrument disciplines to develop the design.
  • Participate in design reviews, model reviews, and constructability assessments.
  • Interface with Global Execution Centre for development of 3D Model.
  • Activities requested from the Piping Lead Engineer to support delivery of the project
  • Experience of Hexagon S3D and Microstation CAD
  • Expertise with Equipment Layout
  • Mega-module experience
