Role

Overview

We're looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our Professional Services (PS) team and take ownership of the successful delivery of customer projects and programmes.

As a Project Manager, you'll manage projects from planning and estimation through to delivery and closure, balancing time, cost, scope and quality to achieve successful outcomes for our customers.

You'll work closely with customers and colleagues across PS, Sales and the wider business, taking responsibility for project planning, financial management, resourcing, progress tracking and the proactive management of risks and issues.

Alongside project delivery, you'll build strong customer relationships and work with Sales and Solution Architects to identify opportunities and support the development of longer-term customer roadmaps.

You'll also play an important role within our PS community, coaching and mentoring colleagues, supporting the wellbeing and development of project teams and contributing to the continuous improvement of our project management best practices.

As a Project Manager, you will:

Take ownership of the successful delivery of customer projects and programmes from planning and estimation through to delivery and closure

Manage project scope, timescales, budgets, quality and resources to achieve successful customer outcomes

Develop and maintain clear project plans, forecasts and delivery approaches

Proactively identify, manage and communicate project risks, issues and dependencies

Manage project finances including cost management, revenue forecasting, invoicing and expenses

Provide accurate project status, financial and progress reporting to internal and external stakeholders

Contribute to the qualification, estimation and development opportunities

Develop project delivery content for proposals and tenders

Ensure projects follow Esri UK quality standards and appropriate project management best practice

Support effective resource planning and make considered resourcing decisions that support both successful delivery and team wellbeing

Coach and mentor Junior Project Managers, Consultants and other colleagues

Share project management knowledge, techniques and best practice

This would be a great career move if you:

Have demonstrated experience managing customer-facing technical projects or programmes throughout the full project lifecycle, particularly in software and application development

Have excellent project management and project delivery skills, with experience delivering projects of varying size and complexity

Are confident managing project budgets, forecasts, invoicing and other financial activities

Can build trusted relationships with both internal and external stakeholders

Are experienced in proactively managing project risks, issues, dependencies and changing priorities

Have knowledge and experience of project management methodologies, including Agile and waterfall delivery approaches

Understand software or technology project delivery tools and methodologies

Have strong commercial awareness and can contribute to developing customer opportunities

Have experience estimating work and contributing to proposals or tenders

Have knowledge of GIS and the Esri platform, or the ability and enthusiasm to develop this knowledge

Understand how strong project delivery can create value for both customers and the business
