Property System Product Manager - Swindon
Job description
Property System Product Manager - Swindon
Summary
INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY PLEASE
We're looking for a Product Manager for the National Trust’s ‘Property System’. The Property System is a mature, business-critical IT platform that supports the National Trust’s management of land, buildings, agreements, income, maintenance and compliance. It connects operational delivery, property data, finance and reporting, and its reach is continuing to grow.
What it's like to work here
You'll sit at the intersection of business, data and technology, working with operational teams, technical specialists, IT colleagues and external software suppliers to continually improve the Property System and the experience of those who use it every day.
This is an ideal role for somebody with experience in IT product management, systems management, business applications or digital service delivery who enjoys turning complex requirements into practical technology solutions.
Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.
What you'll be doing
You'll be responsible for the day-to-day product management of the Property System, helping to translate the strategic roadmap into deliverable improvements, enhancements and future developments.
Working closely with users, technical teams and software suppliers, you'll oversee system enhancements, testing, configuration and releases, ensuring changes are delivered safely and effectively. You'll monitor system performance, maintain data quality standards, support integration with other business systems and help ensure the platform continues to meet the needs of a growing and evolving organisation.
You'll proactively identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency and help users gain more value from existing and future functionality. Working closely with stakeholders and users, you'll understand business requirements and translate organisational need into practical technology solutions.
You'll also lead on system documentation, reporting, governance processes and user support, helping colleagues get the most from the system while maintaining strong controls and data integrity.
You can view the full role profile for this role in the document attached. You don't need to have all of the knowledge, skills and experience listed in the role profile; this is just to provide a full picture of what’s possible in this role.
Who we're looking for
You'll bring a broad range of the following knowledge, skills and experience:
- Experience managing or developing a business-critical IT system, product or digital service.
- Experience translating business requirements into system improvements and product enhancements.
- Understanding of data management, system configuration, integrations and system controls. Experience working with technology suppliers, developers or technical teams to deliver change.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, using data and insight to inform decisions.
- Experience balancing user needs, business priorities, technical constraints and risk.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- The ability to work comfortably with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience working with reporting, analytics or data visualisation tools would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Experience of asset, property, facilities or estate management systems would be advantageous but is not essential.
