Job description

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Security Data Scientist to apply advanced analytics, data science and machine learning to cyber security problems.

The role will focus on developing security analytics and Security Knowledge Graph capabilities to improve threat detection, risk prioritisation and security decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop machine learning and statistical models for threat detection, anomaly detection and security risk analytics.
  • Design features and analytical methods using security telemetry, threat intelligence and enterprise data.
  • Build and use Security Knowledge Graphs to connect entities, events, vulnerabilities and attack paths.
  • Evaluate model accuracy, bias, explainability, robustness and operational effectiveness.
  • Partner with security analysts and engineers to productionise analytical use cases.
  • Perform exploratory analysis and communicate insights through clear visualisations and narratives.
  • Establish data science standards, experimentation methods and model monitoring practices.
  • Support responsible and secure use of AI within cyber security operations.
Required SkillsMandatory
  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Advanced data science and machine learning experience.
  • Strong statistical modelling experience.
  • Strong hands-on Python and SQL skills.
  • Experience with common ML/data science frameworks.
  • Experience developing models for threat detection and anomaly detection.
  • Experience with security risk analytics.
  • Strong feature engineering experience.
  • Experience working with cyber security data, logs or telemetry.
  • Experience working with threat intelligence data.
  • Experience with graph analytics and graph databases.
  • Understanding of Knowledge Graph concepts.
  • Experience evaluating model accuracy and robustness.
  • Experience with model explainability.
  • Experience with model drift monitoring.
  • Understanding of responsible AI.
  • Experience taking data science/ML use cases into production.
  • Strong analytical communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable
  • Data science, machine learning or cloud AI certification.
  • CISSP, Security+ or equivalent security certification.
  • Graph technology certification.
  • Data platform certification.
  • Experience working directly with security analysts and cyber security engineering teams.
  • Experience supporting responsible AI adoption within security operations.
