SENIOR DATA ENGINEER

£70,000 - £80,000

LONDON

This is an opportunity to join a growing technology business at the forefront of data, analytics, and AI innovation. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a key role in building scalable data platforms, enabling advanced AI capabilities, and helping shape engineering best practices within a collaborative, product-focused environment.

Combining expertise in data engineering, analytics, and machine learning to deliver scalable solutions across a range of industries. This is an opportunity to work within a collaborative, lean engineering team where you'll have real ownership, help shape technical direction, and play a key role in building innovative AI-powered products that deliver value from complex data.

THE ROLE

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Design, build and optimise scalable ETL/ELT pipelines across cloud-based data platforms
  • Contribute to data architecture, schema design and data modelling best practices
  • Support CI/CD processes, deployment automation and version-controlled development
  • Integrate AI and machine learning capabilities into production
  • Support the adoption of DataOps best practices
  • Mentor junior engineers and help develop engineering capability across the team
  • Work across a variety of cloud technologies, data platforms and modern engineering tools

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 3 years prior experience in Data Engineering, Data Platform Engineering or a similar role
  • Strong SQL and Python skills
  • Experience designing and developing scalable ETL/ELT pipelines
  • Strong understanding of data modelling
  • Experience working within cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS and/or GCP
  • Knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills with experience working across technical and non-technical teams

SALARY AND BENEFITS

  • £70,000 - £80,000 base salary
