gap technical are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to work at their facility based near Welwyn Garden City
Performance Objectives
- Develop projects with all relevant departments and manage projects through to successful completion
- Provide engineering support to all department across the business
- Assist in producing estimates, technical and manufacturing proposals to support bids and new business development
- Assist the tooling department in design, manufacture, repair & purchase of tooling
- Be a catalyst for change by providing leadership to manage change /improvements throughout the business
- Produce and update risk assessments (PFMEA) as required
- Focal point for customer NPI process and customer technical queries
- Provide technical & engineering support for all aspects of the manufacturing process
- Create, maintain & update route cards, BOM's, technical documents, inspection plans to support manufacture
- Ensure engineering requirements for products are fully understood and met
- Produce & update monthly KPI's taking actions as necessary when targets are not met
- Develop, implement & monitor "Best Practice" lean manufacturing processes to achieve business goals
- Ensure defect reports and 'Engineering Change Requests' are dealt with in a timely manner
- Develop, implement & sustain a safe working culture ensuring Health & Safety requirements are complied with
- Liaise with other section leaders and other functions as necessary and support customer visits as required
- Ensure that work is conducted in a safe environment according to safe practices - report deviation from H&S good practice immediately
- Assist the Quality Department in timely completion of CAPA's from an engineering perspective
- Carry out annual appraisals for engineering team members identifying & supporting training needs
Person Specification
- Must have aerospace experience
- HND or above in Engineering or equivalent
- Leadership Qualification
- Experience of resolving shop floor and customer issues
- Manufacturing experience in a low volume environment
- Experience using engineering solutions for complex problems.
- Experience in an AS9100 controlled environment.
- Solid understanding of aerospace engineering principles
Desirable
- Engineering Degree
- Aerospace Training
- Familiar with using an MRP system
- Using CAD 2D/3D software
- Knowledge of Aventa
- MS Project & Visio
