Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Security Systems Engineer or in a similar security engineering role.
  • Strong experience in the electronic security industry and good technical knowledge of security systems and associated technologies.
  • A logical, methodical approach to fault finding and problem solving.
  • Good communication and organisational skills, with a high level of accuracy when completing work and documentation.
  • Ideally, experience with Texecom Cloud, Dahua DoLynk, Salto KS, Paxton10 or Brivo.
  • Relevant backgrounds include security systems, service, maintenance, electronic security, fire and security, CCTV, access control, intruder alarm or similar engineering roles.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned maintenance and reactive repairs on electronic security systems.
  • Investigate faults and provide technical support to customers and engineers.
  • Work across intruder alarms, access control, CCTV and intercom systems.
  • Use manufacturer software for system configuration, diagnostics and optimisation.
  • Support engineers with technical issues and provide guidance where required.
  • Complete work and documentation accurately while maintaining good customer service.
  • Perform other duties relevant to the role as required.

We are an established fire and security services provider, and we are seeking a Security Systems Engineer to support customers and engineering teams across a range of electronic security systems. This is a field-based role for candidates based anywhere in London or within 15 miles north and 20 miles south of our St Albans office. We offer a basic salary of £35,000–£45,000 per annum, paid travel, on-call and overtime allowances, and total average earnings of £43,000–£60,000, plus benefits. Benefits include 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, increasing with service; a 9/10-day working fortnight; a salary sacrifice pension scheme; death in service insurance; wellness, employee assistance, GP and mental health support; professional development and training; quarterly development reviews; a recognition programme; and an annual company conference.
