Can you build strong partner relationships while keeping a sharp grip on performance, quality, risk and accountability?

We are looking for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to oversee appointed subcontractors delivering key parts of the Youth Jobs Guarantee.

You will be the main operational contact for partners once they are appointed. This is not a procurement or partner-sourcing role: it is about helping providers mobilise well, deliver confidently, improve quickly and meet the standards expected of a high-profile public service.

Using performance data, quality findings and risk insight, you will provide practical support, constructive challenge and clear follow-through so partners deliver safe, consistent and effective services for young people.

What you will be doing

  • Manage appointed subcontractors as their main operational contact, with clear expectations, strong relationships and accountable ways of working.
  • Lead mobilisation and readiness, ensuring delivery plans, staffing, systems, policies, controls and evidence requirements are in place.
  • Monitor performance, quality and risk through data, dashboards, audits, reviews, site visits and operational insight.
  • Drive improvement by agreeing actions, supporting partners, challenging underperformance and escalating issues where needed.
  • Maintain assurance and due diligence, working closely with Quality, Compliance, Safeguarding, Finance, Legal and Digital colleagues.
  • Protect contractual and financial integrity through evidence checks, payment queries, change control, audit trails and clear governance reporting.
