Job description

  • 5+ years of hands-on backend engineering experience with Java and Spring Boot 3, building and maintaining production microservices
  • Mid-to-senior level engineering background with demonstrated ownership of production services in a distributed systems environment
  • Experience with GraphQL: either building APIs with Netflix DGS or consuming GraphQL APIs using the Apollo Java/Kotlin client
  • Hands-on experience with event-driven distributed systems using at least one of AWS SQS, Apache Kafka, or RabbitMQ
  • Strong experience with JPA/Hibernate and Spring Data JPA with MySQL/Aurora, including transactional design and optimistic locking
  • Strong testing experience with JUnit 5, Mockito, and integration testing against live environments
  • Experience with Gradle multi-module builds
  • Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with Datadog, including metrics, monitoring, and production/deployment monitors
  • Responsible use of AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot or Claude to accelerate development while maintaining code quality and correctness
  • English level B2 or higher
  • Develop and maintain Java / Spring Boot backend services, delivering feature development, bug fixes, and reliability improvements across BAM services
  • Solve distributed systems challenges, including transactional consistency, event-driven correctness, notification reliability at scale, and safe multi-entity migrations
  • Keep advertiser billing accounts accurate, compliant, and synchronized across MySQL / Aurora, DynamoDB, MongoDB, and external platforms such as Zuora
  • Deliver production-ready features and fixes through GitLab CI/CD
  • Maintain strong unit and integration test coverage that meets JaCoCo quality gates
  • Improve system reliability through better observability, resilience patterns, safe canary deployments, and production deployments gated by Datadog monitors
