Job description
About the Position: Serve as a Supervisory Physician (Medical Evaluation Board) with the Department of War at Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Fort Gordon, GA. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Medical malpractice liability insurance is not required for federal civilian healthcare providers as they are covered by the Federal Tort Claims Act (28 U.S.C. § 1346(b)) while acting within the scope of their employment.
Review available medical records of all military personnel referred for possible disability processing.
Responsible for the examination, diagnosis, treatment and prescription of the full range of patients seen for purposes of completing the Medical Evaluation Board process.
Responsible for the dictation of narrative summaries, addendums, dictating responses to concerns raised by soldiers and the Physical Evaluation Board (PEB) or Physical Disability Agency (PDA).
Leader of a health care team comprised of other physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and Army disability staff. Provide medical consultative services and chart review for quality assurance purposes.
