Position Title: Product Manager – AC Power
Key Responsibilities
Product Analytics & Business Intelligence
- Serve as the single-point analytical resource for all AC Power product lines, providing data-driven insights to Product Line Managers.
- Develop and maintain product performance dashboards tracking revenue, margin, order intake, backlog, and market share across all product lines.
- Conduct product profitability analysis including gross margin, contribution margin, and NMC trends for each product line.
- Perform product mix analysis and identify opportunities for margin improvement and portfolio optimization.
- Prepare Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs) and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with consolidated analytics across all AC Power product lines.
- Track and report on key product KPIs including win/loss rates, quote-to-order conversion, lead times, and customer satisfaction metrics.
Market & Competitive Intelligence
- Conduct competitive benchmarking across all product lines – analyzing competitor product features, pricing, positioning, and market share.
- Monitor market trends, technology shifts, and regulatory changes impacting AC Power products (e.g., data center growth, energy transition, grid modernization).
- Prepare market sizing and segmentation analysis for each product line to support strategic planning and investment decisions.
- Track industry developments in UPS, energy storage, switchgear, busway, microgrid, and power management software domains.
- Support Product Line Managers with Voice of Customer (VoC) analysis and customer requirement mapping.
Product Line Support & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Product Line Managers
- Support New Product Development & Introduction (NPDI) projects with market feasibility studies, business case preparation, and financial modeling.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, and Finance teams to gather data and validate assumptions for product decisions.
- Support SFA and Localization projects with cost-benefit analysis and impact assessment.
Strategic Planning & Portfolio Management
- Support the Budget / Annual Operating Plan (AOP) process with product-level forecasts, market assumptions, and growth projections.
- Assist in product lifecycle management decisions – including product launches, phase-outs, and end-of-life planning.
- Develop product roadmap analytics to help Product Line Managers prioritize investments and feature development.
- Prepare investment justification documents (business cases, ROI analysis) for new product initiatives and capacity expansion.
- Conduct portfolio health assessments using frameworks such as BCG Matrix, product lifecycle stage analysis, and margin-volume mapping.
Reporting & Stakeholder Communication
- Create and maintain standardized reporting templates for consistent product performance tracking across all product lines.
- Prepare executive-level presentations and summaries for leadership reviews, strategy meetings, and board updates.
- Develop ad-hoc analytical reports as requested by Product Line Managers and senior leadership.
- Maintain a centralized product data repository ensuring data accuracy and accessibility for all stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
- MBA (Marketing / Strategy / Operations) – strongly preferred.
Experience
- 10+ years of progressive experience in product analysis, product management, or business analysis within the power electronics / electrical equipment / industrial products industry.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience supporting multiple product lines simultaneously.
- Demonstrated experience in market research, competitive intelligence, and product portfolio analytics.
- Proven track record of working with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Sales, Supply Chain, and Finance.
- Experience in data center infrastructure, power management, or energy solutions is highly preferred.
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (financial modeling, pivot tables, advanced formulas, macros) and PowerPoint (executive-level presentations).
- Strong working knowledge of BI/Analytics tools – Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP / Oracle) for extracting product, cost, and order data.
- Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce or equivalent) for pipeline and win/loss analysis.
- Knowledge of market research tools and databases (e.g., Frost & Sullivan, Mordor Intelligence, IHS Markit).
Domain Knowledge
- Strong understanding of AC Power products – UPS systems, Energy storage, Switchgear, Busway, Microgrids, PSD, and power management software.
- Familiarity with data center infrastructure, critical power, and cooling ecosystems.
- Understanding of industry standards and certifications relevant to power products (IEC, UL, IS standards).
- Knowledge of commodity markets and their impact on product costing (copper, steel, aluminum, semiconductors).
