Overview
We are seeking a Senior Associate with experience in private equity fund accounting to support the review and delivery of financial statements, fund accounting records, and client reporting requirements. The role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial data, NAV calculations, valuations, and other fund accounting deliverables in accordance with client-specific requirements, fund governing documents, and applicable accounting standards. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of fund accounting principles, financial reporting, and review processes, while contributing to operational excellence, stakeholder engagement, and the consistent delivery of high-quality client service.
Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities
Strategic Focus
- Support leadership in the implementation and execution of accounting review standards, controls, and best practices to enhance the quality and consistency of fund accounting deliverables.
- Identify and assess operational risks, cost-efficiency opportunities, and process improvement initiatives to support effective service delivery and operational excellence.
- Lead the preparation of fund accounting activities, financial statements, NAVs, and client reporting deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with client requirements and accounting standards.
- Support the management of complex fund structures, transactions, and reporting requirements by applying technical expertise and sound professional judgment.
- Provide oversight of key fund accounting and investor-related activities, ensuring timely execution and adherence to established controls and procedures.
- Prepare and validate management fee calculations, carried interest allocations, and other complex fund accounting activities to ensure accuracy and compliance with governing agreements.
- Support senior leadership in the implementation and execution of accounting review standards, controls, and best practices to enhance the quality and consistency of fund accounting deliverables.
- Identify and assess operational risks, cost-efficiency opportunities, and process improvement initiatives to support effective service delivery and operational excellence.
- Drive continuous improvement by recommending enhancements to review processes, controls, and reporting practices to improve efficiency, scalability, and service quality.
- Act as a subject matter resource for fund accounting and financial reporting matters, providing technical guidance and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Contribute to the successful delivery of strategic client objectives by ensuring high-quality, timely, and consistent service across assigned fund portfolios.
- Foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous learning through active participation in team development and best-practice initiatives.
Operational Management
- Oversee the preparation and delivery of financial statements and other accounting reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely completion in accordance with established quality standards.
- Ensure accounting review procedures and practices are aligned with US GAAP, IFRS, and other applicable accounting standards, including the research and application of technical accounting guidance.
- Maintain a high standard of client service by reviewing client reports and financial statements for accuracy, quality, and completeness while ensuring adherence to agreed timelines.
- Ensure all accounting review activities are appropriately documented and performed in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Analyze, address, and resolve issues relating to technical accounting pronouncements, financial statement disclosures, and reporting requirements.
- Identify review efficiencies and recommend process improvements to enhance quality, consistency, and operational effectiveness.
- Review client deliverables, audit support documentation, and reporting packages to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable requirements.
- Leverage accounting systems and reporting tools to support efficient review processes and enhance reporting quality.
- Collaborate with global client service teams in accordance with established procedures to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency of service delivery.
- Provide guidance on client queries and reporting matters, ensuring timely communication and issue resolution.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships while serving as a key point of contact for accounting review matters.
- Demonstrate ownership of assigned fund relationships and review deliverables, ensuring quality and timely completion.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and knowledge sharing to support the development of junior team members.
- Support team objectives by promoting collaboration, consistency in review practices, and effective workload management.
- Provide clear and timely updates and respond effectively to stakeholder requests.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Support team learning through knowledge sharing and the promotion of best practices.

- Prepare and present performance and risk reports, proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks while ensuring compliance with applicable policies and requirements.
- Escalate issues and incidents appropriately and in a timely manner to support the effective management of operational and business risks.
- Communicate issues, risks, and remediation actions clearly and effectively to relevant stakeholders.
- Review and challenge risk-related findings to support the accuracy and completeness of reporting and controls.
- Support audits, regulatory reviews, and compliance activities through effective coordination and timely reporting.
- Lead the escalation and resolution of exceptions, incidents, and control issues, ensuring appropriate stakeholder involvement.
- Promote adherence to governance frameworks, policies, and established risk management practices.
- Communicate governance, risk, and compliance matters effectively while maintaining trusted stakeholder relationships.
- Continuously enhance technical, regulatory, and risk management knowledge to support effective decision-making and oversight.

Experience & Personal Attributes
Experience
- Chartered Accountant / Master’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in operations / accounting within the financial services industry.
