Senior Project Manager

This is a remote position.

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and successful completion of projects, ensuring delivery within timelines, scope, quality, and budget. The role involves coordinating cross-functional resources, managing team dynamics, engaging with clients and stakeholders, and balancing technical and operational requirements while aligning project outcomes with broader business objectives.

The ideal candidate should have strong project management experience, sound knowledge of SAP ERP and Master Data Management (MDM), excellent customer-handling skills, and the ability to lead complex global implementations.

Key Responsibilities

Process & Continuous Improvement

• Ensure adherence to project management, reporting, governance, and quality standards, including timely stakeholder approvals and concurrence.

• Work effectively across Waterfall, Agile, and DevOps methodologies based on project and workstream requirements.

• Independently configure MDO software and guide team members in configuration activities as per functional and technical specifications.

• Develop efficient, effective, scalable, and supportable solutions aligned with industry best practices.

• Support the creation, review, and execution of test cases against defined acceptance criteria.

• Ensure all project processes and documentation are completed and standardized, including:

• Design Documents

• Implementation Documents

• Test Scripts

• Use Cases

• Knowledge Transfer Documents

• Other project and support documentation

• Identify, debug, track, and report issues observed during testing to ensure high-quality solutions.

Project Financial & Delivery Management

• Track project burn, effort utilization, and cycle time to ensure projects remain within approved budgets.

• Monitor project milestones, deliverables, timelines, and resource utilization.

• Identify delivery risks and implement corrective actions proactively.

• Ensure projects are delivered within agreed scope, quality, timelines, and budget.

Customer & Stakeholder Management

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of client business requirements and clearly define project scope and requirements.

• Identify changes, additions, and gaps in requirements and present viable solution options to customers.

• Proactively communicate deviations from the Business Blueprint (BBP) or Statement of Work (SOW).

• Initiate and manage change requests to ensure appropriate project governance and commercial protection.

• Engage confidently with demanding customers and facilitate functional and project discussions with internal and external stakeholders.

• Monitor and communicate project progress, risks, issues, dependencies, and blockers to stakeholders.

• Take corrective action when required and secure stakeholder support for issue resolution.

• Build collaborative relationships with business functions, partners, customers, and internal teams.

• Evaluate and communicate the risks and benefits of different solution options to support effective decision-making.

People & Team Management

• Lead, motivate, and develop project teams to achieve delivery objectives.

• Identify talent gaps and facilitate upskilling and knowledge development.

• Implement appropriate retention and team-development strategies.

• Drive continuous improvement in team performance and delivery standards.

• Encourage team members to pursue relevant training, certifications, product updates, and professional development opportunities.

• Foster a collaborative, accountable, and performance-oriented team culture.

Requirements

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's or Engineering degree, preferably with specialization in Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Master's degree/MBA is preferred.

• 14–20 years of overall experience, with strong experience in project management and software delivery lifecycle (SDLC).

• Strong understanding of project management methodologies and practices.

• Sound knowledge of SAP ERP.

• Good understanding of Master Data Management (MDM) concepts, processes, and practices.

• Working knowledge of databases such as Oracle and SQL Server.

• Relevant project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent is preferred.

• Hands-on experience with project collaboration and tracking tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Microsoft Teams.
