What You’ll Do

  • Participate with dedication in Atlas' Teaching Fellow program
    • Teaching Fellows are new to education and desire intentional learning, observation, and practice that will allow them to excel within their own classroom after their first year.
  • Teach under the guidance of exemplary teachers and instructional coaches
  • Receive, retain, and apply feedback and guidance given from various coaching parties
  • Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and is appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
  • Help to guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives as indicated in the assigned lesson plan(s)
  • Develop meaningful relationships with students and make a tangible impact on the minds' and lives' of students
  • Maintain a neat and orderly classroom
  • Ensure that students are never left unattended in the classroom
  • Be knowledgeable in the procedures for referring students with disciplinary problems
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Compensation & Schedule

  • Salaried/Exempt
  • Signing Bonus: $1,000
  • Annual Salary Range*: $36,750
  • Full Time; Monday – Friday; Occasional evenings and weekends as needed

    • Please note this includes 3 days of orientation for new staff. Following years will consist of only 209 work days.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Possess a sincere desire to become a full-time teacher with Atlas
  • Ability to pass required background screening pursuant to CRS § 22-30.5-110.7
  • Be willing to obtain in-field status when transitioning to a full time classroom teacher
  • Possess a growth mindset that values feedback and is able to successfully implement such information
  • Be 100% committed to the Atlas mission and educational equity
  • Demonstrated maturity, humility, self-reflection, and a strong work ethic
  • Ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanor in the face of competing demands and external pressures

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in Education) or in active pursuit of a Bachelor's degree
  • Bilingual: Spanish & English or experience working with bilingual/multilingual students
  • Successful experience in an urban classroom setting, with strong systems, high expectations, and a joyful student-centered environment

Essential Job Functions

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking
  • Must be able to fulfill duties in person
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
  • Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed
  • Must be able to abide by all policies and procedures of Atlas
