Responsibilities:
Report directly to the Service Manager and assist in planning, organizing, and controlling evening shop operations.
Ensure quality and safety standards are met.
Perform work specified on repair orders efficiently and in accordance with dealership standards.
Conduct test drives, evaluate components, and diagnose issues using diagnostic tools and specialized equipment.
Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning.
Communicate with the Service Advisor to keep customers informed about additional service needs.
Provide accurate estimates for additional repairs.
Execute warranty repairs according to manufacturer specifications.
Qualifications:
2+ years of Diesel Technician experience preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent.
B-level qualifications, including diagnostic, electrical, and engine repair skills.
Dexterity and excellent hand-eye coordination.
Mechanical troubleshooting abilities and proficiency with electronic diagnostic equipment.
Strong customer service skills and basic computer competency.
Positive attitude and eagerness to learn and improve.
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.
Willingness to adapt to new technology, repair procedures, and specifications.
Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
Valid CDL license is not required but preferred.
