University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust - Southampton, MA

An exciting unique opportunity has arisen for a breast surgery nurse practitioner (NP) post at University Hospitals Southampton NHS Trust. The successful candidate will work very closely with the breast multi-disciplinary team at the Princess Anne Hospital and would be supported by the senior nursing team and consultant breast surgeons. You will work alongside a band 7 ANP already in post.

The NP will deliver independent nurse led clinics within the breast surgical symptomatic service alongside medical colleagues and other members of the ANP team. The symptomatic service receives referrals (e.g. from GP’s) for patients with breast symptoms and manages patients with both benign or cancer diagnoses. The breast ANP team also deliver independent nurse led clinics to assess family history risk for patients with or without breast cancer. These clinics involve a close working relationship with breast surgical, radiological and genetics teams.

We are a forward thinking service made up of a multidisciplinary team and are committed to delivering the best possible care to our patients. We encourage the development of our staff and expect them to keep up to date and promote evidence based practice. There are opportunities in the department to undertake research, audit and sub-specialising in areas of interest.

An informal discussion is fully recommended for those wishing to apply.
