Job Summary/Basic Function
  • Compiles, prepares, sorts, and verifies data to be entered.
  • Resolves questions, inconsistencies, or missing data before entering to HMS database.
  • Enters alphabetical, numerical, or symbolic data from source documents into HMS database following format.
  • Proofreads data entered with source documents or reenters data in verification format on screen to detect errors.
  • Reviews error reports and makes any corrections to data entered.
  • Maintains data and source documents of work completed.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding entered data.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Interacts with other team members to identify potential sources of error and/or to suggest improvements to data management.


Minimum Qualifications

Prefer High school diploma (or GED) and six (6) months year of numerical and alphabetical data entry experience or combination of education and experience.

Excellent attention to detail.
Accurately compare similarities and differences among sets of numbers and words. Concentrate on data entry for a period of time without being distracted.
Ability to work independently and under pressure of deadlines.

This is a part-time position typically requiring 12 hours/week of work.

The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level is usually quiet.
