Supervises and performs the full range of assignments in the housing assistance program and/or serves as a program specialist responsible for the development and implementation of specialized housing assistance programs; and performs other related duties as required.

The current vacancy is responsible for providing daily oversight and supervision to lower-level Section 8 Housing Assistance Specialists; performing the full range of assignments in the housing assistance program (e.g., determining eligibility for rental assistance, investigating and processing claims for unpaid rent and damages; etc.); monitoring case management activities for quality control; and making recommendations for policy and procedure changes within the housing assistance program, as appropriate.

Minimum Qualification Requirements: EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Substantially equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.

Work experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis. Such experience must have provided the knowledge, skills, and analytical ability normally gained from attainment of a bachelor's degree.

Three (3) years of professional (i.e., post-bachelor's degree, non-clerical) work experience which involved interviewing clients to elicit information; verifying and analyzing the information obtained; and determining clients' needs and/or entitlements based on the application of pertinent principles, practices, policies, standards, and/or guidelines, two (2) years of which shall have been in determining eligibility for public or social assistance programs (e.g., housing or rental assistance).
