Position Summary/Purpose of Position: Performs housekeeping duties and responsibilities consistent with the operation and maintenance of a healthcare environment. Performs the key steps involved in the floor care process throughout the building, including but not limited to the following activities: daily maintenance – cleaning and disinfecting, periodic maintenance – scrubbing, buffing, and burnishing, and restorative maintenance – stripping as required. Safely operates and maintains heavy-duty floor equipment. Cleans assigned areas including washing furnishings, windows, tiles, fixtures, equipment. Cleans sanitizes and disinfects restrooms, replenishes soap and paper towels.
Minimum Qualifications:

Ability to read, write, and perform arithmetic calculations; to operate assigned tools and housekeeping equipment; to work with chemicals and cleaning solutions; to understand and follow directions; to lift and transport supplies and refuse; to wear and work in personal protective equipment.



Preferences: Ability to read, write and operate basic housekeeping equipment,
Health care experience is a plus,
Ability to work with cleaning chemicals and understand directions
Able to lift and transport 50 pounds
Ability to paint small projects
Possess basic computer skills.

Physical Demands Hours are generally set but may vary depending on work assignments. Position requires extensive standing, walking, bending, stooping, lifting and transporting heavy materials/objects. Other environmental conditions include potential exposure to hazardous waste and infectious diseases.
