Greif’s Global Sourcing and Supply Chain team plays a key role ensuring the flow of data and material across the network. This includes optimal material availability to support plant production, supporting material/product transitions, coordinating with suppliers, and facilitating monthly plant-level S&OP meetings. Excellent organizational skills, the ability to balance short term priorities, and strong analytical skills are necessary.

Greif is enabling a demand-driven supply chain, requiring this position to partner and coordinate with Operations and Sales to execute strategic plans, including leading plant-level S&OP meetings. The winning candidate must be a self-starter and a team player with excellent communication skills. Immediately, this role will be an essential colleague in the deployment of Demand-Driven MRP processes and technology, as part of the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) project.


  • Lead supply chain inventory processes,system settings, and achieving inventory targets for designated plants
  • Influence plant leadership on best practices for inventory management
  • Manage daily and weekly activities with suppliers and plants to optimize overall performance while providing excellent service to Greif’s customers
  • Analyze inventory parameters and facilitate discussions of inventory practices and opportunities for improvement
  • Facilitate plant S&OP meetings, including review of plant metrics such as inventory adjustments and DIO to achieve defined targets
  • Monitor supplier performance and proactively escalate any concerns to Sourcing managers
  • If supply shortage occurs, manage allocation of inventory across network of plants. Initiate meetings to make recommendations and evaluate options for continued supply
  • Lead cross-functional teams for supply chain related projects
  • As Subject Matter Expert,lead plant implementation for Integrated Business Planning (IBP)Specifically Demand Driven MRP
  • In times of supplier or part change, define buffers and lead transition of components
  • Coordinate timing of incoming components, and communicate any expected shortfalls to plants for potential expediting
  • Collaborate with suppliers for expected demand
  • Spearhead discussions with logistics team members to determine balance of inventory investment vs. optimal replenishment frequency
  • Escalate any supply chain related issue for awareness and action to leadership and S&OP
  • Mentor local plant buying and inventory management on standard practices, system, inventory, and supplier issues

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Supply Chain, Sourcing, or Operations
  • APICS CPIM (or equivalent) preferred

  • 2+ years of Supply Chain and Inventory Management experience required
  • Skilled in use of planning logic (e.g. MRP, advanced planning systems), MS Officerequired
  • Experience leading projects

  • Experience with demand-driven planning
  • Strong understanding of supply chain and inventory management concepts, and ability to apply into practice
  • Strong communication skills. Proven ability to lead and participate in a team environment
  • Strong time management, planning, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
  • Solid systems background and analytical skills

  • Travel, as required, to support projects and plants. Expected 15-30%
