As a Technical Product Owner - Enterprise Data you will coordinate activities to develop solutions for internal customers as it relates to building out core platform capabilities to drive GSK’s data & analytics needs. Collaborate with multiple stakeholders, platform engineers, and teams to efficiently manage the backlog and distribution of backlog items to the development teams. Responsible for the communication of expectations and helping engineering team members, as well as other product team members, understand the product’s key capabilities and benefits. Work to understand user needs further to enhance the Data Platform product and managing it throughout the product lifecycle. This role will be responsible for implementing self-service data capabilities as prioritized by the Director, Data Platform to support gained efficiencies within the overall data platform by driving faster on boarding of data and creation of analytical ready datasets.

Provide direction to the agile development team as well as work with customers and leaders to validate concepts and the roadmap. Maintain program objectives, consistently measuring defined success measurements and key performance indicators. Coordinate and drive release planning, PI planning, demonstrations, and retrospectives with development teams. Own scrum activities, JIRA documentation, as well as coordination of resourcing for your team. Participate in industry conferences and seminars, stay well informed of changes and trends in the marketplace; educate colleagues, partners, and customers as appropriate. Support daily operations, including the analysis of workflow, establishing priorities, estimation of LOE, developing standards, and setting deadlines. Partner across GSK with other product team members to refine and assign the work to support efficient delivery. Review project plans and coordinate activity for completion of delivery. Assign and review the work of systems analysts, programmers, and other related professionals and provide users with support for their data needs and technical questions.

  • Drive delivery of digital road map for data platform micro services capabilities build-out, platform upgrades, etc.
  • Partner with other product team members to reduce dependencies, risk, and to align overall program initiatives
  • Develop sustainable data-driven solutions with new data technologies to meet the needs of our organization and business customers
  • Build robust end-to-end systems with an eye on the long term maintenance and support of the application
  • Own Agile practices and management of daily activities- removal of blockers, reporting team metrics, and coordination across the internal team to drive collaboration
  • Gather business tech and business requirements- in partnership with the Product Manager, contribute to solution design, deliver end to end solution, to include data ingestion & Acquisition, creating micro services to help in delivering faster business value, provide ongoing management to improve performance and drive continuous improvement throughout the product life cycle
  • Participate in, coordinate, and support requirements gathering meetings, refinement (to story level) and other scrum activities
  • Utilizing JIRA to manage the backlog of work as well as confluence for documentation around engagements- supporting the delivery lead
  • Be an evangelist of Product Management, SAFe Agile practices to support the adoption
  • Actively contribute to the Data and Product communities
Why you?
Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • 5+ years in managing cross-functional teams
  • 5+ years developing software solutions to solve complex business problems
  • 3+ years in Data Platform experience- specific to owning and enabling capabilities within an enterprise data ecosystem including Data Ingestion, Prep, and Store
  • 7+ years of experience in Product Management, including:
  • 5+ years utilizing Agile Product Management- Scrum and SAFe methodologies
  • Marketing, educating, and driving adoption of data platform & analytics products
  • Backlog and road map creation and management
  • Deploying and maintaining enterprise-wide data platforms and analytics tooling
  • Communicating and capturing requirements from business and tech for execution by engineering and driving delivery across multi-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Understanding of current cloud technologies with a passion for learning new technologies
  • Comprehensive understanding of data ingestion and preparation processes. Experience in semantic data store (Azure SQL DW/Snowflake, Cosmos DB), PowerBI, Azure Databricks, Data Ingestion/Acquisition/Prep (Azure ADF, StreamSets, Talend) are desirable.
  • Experience building and operating in a regulated environment (GxP, Sarbanes-Oxley)
  • Experience with API and Microservices technologies/architecture
  • Understanding of IAM and authorization (RBAC and ABAC)
  • Understanding of container technologies (Docker/Kubernetes), streaming technologies (Kafka), and automated testing patterns and tools a plus
