The Accountant III – Gaming Operations performs detailed work and process review for the Finance Gaming Operations departments. The main duty of this position is to prepare and file Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) and Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs). The position is also required to manage filing deadlines for all regulatory reports that are generated by the Finance Gaming Operations departments. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Seneca Gaming Corporation’s policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Ensure timely and accurate filings of CTR and SAR reports.
  • Prepare, review, and file CTR reports within the filing deadlines.
  • Prepare, review, and file SAR reports within the filing deadlines.
  • Prepare, review, and track all SAR alerts and inquires with other departments.
  • Ensure accurate record keeping of all CTR and SAR filings, including quarterly reviews and key statistics.
2. Daily Operating Report (DOR) review and maintenance which includes:
  • Tying DOR to monthly financial statements,
  • Adding information to the DOR as required by management.
3. Point Liability Calculation which includes:
  • Calculating comps point balances using FIFO/LIFO methodology,
  • Calculating comp point redemptions using a rolling twelve-month model,
  • Calculating cost margins for Non-Gaming areas using financial statements,
  • Creating point liability journal entries for all SGC properties,
  • Updating point liability calculation based on changes in marketing programs and business modifications.
4. Prepare, review, and ensure timely and accurate filings of all regulatory reports within the required deadlines.
5. Prepare and review reports pertaining to complimentary transactions at the direction of the Complimentary Committee.
6. Prepare and review Board of Director expense reports, and other reports at the direction of management.
7. Obtaining a comprehensive understanding of the following systems: ACSC, LMS, Infinium, Info-Genesis, V1, PM 10, etc.
8. Assist in bad debt collection efforts and processes.
9. Must be able to clearly communicate to patrons and to third party attorneys.
10. Assist in creating and processing invoices.
11. Assist in researching and resolving patron credit card and credit instrument disputes.
12. Assist in the creating of monthly and quarterly credit department documentation.
13. Assist in creating patron background and gaming histories documentation for SGC’s Legal Department.
14. Assist in reviewing and direct bill applications and create accounts as needed.
15. Ensure an accurate monthly reconciliation of credit card transaction receivables.
16. Must be able to independently research and resolve patron credit card and credit instrument disputes.
17. Must possess leadership qualities, and must be able to speak effectively to large groups.
18. Maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements and a detailed understanding of the State Gaming Compact.
19. Maintain a current understanding of all policy and guidelines regarding information security including the Seneca Gaming Corporation Acceptable Use Policy. Understand and comply with all information security policies and procedures at all times.
20. Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicate in a pleasant, friendly and professional manner at all times. Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers and staff.
21. Meeting the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
22. Attending all necessary meetings.
23. Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed.
24. Hours are determined by 24-hour schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Experience:
1. Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment.
2. Associates degree in Finance required.
3. Two (2) years gaming accounting or auditing experience required.
4. One (1) year experience in Bank Secrecy Act preparation and/or filings required.
5. Proficiency in Excel is required.
6. Knowledge of Infinium, PM 10, ACSC, LMS, Info-Genesis, and other accounting/auditing software packages is preferred.
7. Excellent time management, organizational, and analytical skills required.
8. Successful candidate must be an experienced, results oriented, hands-on professional who is able to work in a team environment.
9. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions and provide solutions.
10. Must demonstrate fairness, and sensibility to all customers and employees.
Language Skills and Reasoning Ability:
1. Must possess excellent communication skills.
2. Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers.
3. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
4. Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.
5. Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

When on the casino floor, the noise levels increase to loud. Must be able to work in an environment where smoking is permitted.

Salary Starting Rate:
$68,697.18
Compensation is negotiable based on experience and education.

Each position has varying minimum qualifications. In the absence of fully qualified candidates, some requirements may be waived.
