Position Overview:
We are seeking a self-motivated, experienced Senior Accountant/Tax Professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with small business clients, preparing accurate tax returns, providing insightful financial guidance, and embracing technology-driven solutions. For candidates with an entrepreneurial spirit and a long-term vision of owning or leading a firm, this role offers the potential to grow into a Partner-track opportunity in the future.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Tax (Core Focus):
- Prepare and review individual and business tax returns
- Oversee small business accounting and bookkeeping (QuickBooks)
- Conduct financial statement preparation, budget review, and projections
- Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Perform journal entries and account adjustments
- Provide tax planning, consulting, and advisory services to clients
- Stay current with tax laws, compliance requirements, and industry best practices
Client Service & Consulting:
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Offer proactive advice and solutions to support client success
- Respond to client questions promptly and professionally
- Entrepreneurial Growth Potential (Desired):
- Participate in business development initiatives
- Help identify new service opportunities (Client Advisory Services, CFO services, etc.)
- Develop leadership capabilities to support a future ownership or partnership role

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
- CPA designation / Enrolled Agent (preferred but not required)
- Minimum 5 years of small business accounting and tax preparation experience
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience (desired)
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and tax preparation software
- Tech-savvy mindset, comfortable adopting new tools
- Exceptional attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Self-directed, entrepreneurial, and passionate about client success
- Positive, professional, and collaborative approach
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary ($80,000 - $104,000)

Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Extended hours (48-55 hours) required during tax season (February – April 15)
- Reduced summer/fall schedule (Fridays off) to balance annual workload
