This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. Temporary employees who work an annual average of 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for health insurance coverage under the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). This temporary position is located in Raleigh - Wake County.


Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $23.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).



This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Environmental Quality. This position is located at 217 W. Jones St, Raleigh, NC 27603.

The duties of this position include:
  • Daily Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and deposit activities.
  • Field Deposits: Execute and verify daily field deposits and ensure timely submission.
  • Core Banking Transfers: Process inter-account transfers using the organization’s core banking systems.
  • NCFS Journal Entries: Enter and certify journal entries into the NCFS system on a daily basis.
  • Excel Tracking: Maintain and update Excel spreadsheets to track journals, deposits, and other financial transactions.
  • SharePoint Logging: Log all deposits and transfer activities in SharePoint for cross-departmental transparency.
  • Deposit Certification: Ensure all deposits are certified in NCFS on a daily basis.
  • Email Monitoring: Monitor and respond to inquiries or alerts via WF CEO email system to ensure seamless cash management operations

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

  • Maintaining accurate financial records
  • Performing field deposits
  • Managing core banking transfers
  • Property recording of transactions across multiple platforms, including NCFS, Core Banking, Microsoft 365 and SharePoint

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Some state job postings say you can qualify by an “equivalent combination of education and experience.” If that language appears below, then you may qualify through EITHER years of education OR years of directly related experience, OR a combination of both. Associate degree in accounting from an appropriately accredited institution; or

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of experience in accounting work; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
