Hourly rate is non-negotiable. The successful candidate will be hired at the minimum hourly rate.

The Family Court Services Unit is seeking a highly organized and dedicated administrative professional to provide essential clerical and program support in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This position is responsible for managing front-desk operations, processing case documentation, coordinating client services, and ensuring the efficient operation of court-ordered programs. The administrative professional plays an essential role in supporting the unit’s mission of serving families and maintaining positive engagement with court users, legal professionals, and community service providers.


Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the first point of contact for clients and visitors, providing accurate information and professional customer service.
  • Manages intake processes, case documentation, and data entry into the Family Court Services (FCS) database.
  • Coordinates and schedules court-ordered appointments; maintain appointment calendars and manage communication with clients.
  • Files and distributes court documents, including status reports and other filings.
  • Prepares communications, such as emails, reports, and other correspondence as necessary.
  • Maintains a safe and organized office environment, responding to incidents and reporting concerns appropriately.
  • Supports the daily operations of the unit and work closely with specialists.
  • Attends staff meetings, court hearings, Lunch and Learn trainings, and other related events as necessary.
  • Performs related work as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED. Associate's degree preferred.
  • Two (2) years of experience in business administration, performing office, legal secretary or paralegal work.
    • Associate’s degree may substitute for one (1) year of experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Thorough knowledge of business English, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), SharePoint, and court databases.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with court procedures, legal terminology, and family dynamics, especially in high-conflict or trauma-informed settings.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Knowledge of conflict resolution strategies and office safety protocols.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish preferred.

  • Work involves a significant amount of standing, walking, sitting, talking, listening, stooping, and reaching with hands and arms; must be able to transfer up to 15 pounds.
