Description of Work
Broughton Hospital is currently accepting applications for an Administrative Associate II to provide clerical and administrative support and assistance to the Social Work Department. The ideal candidate for this position is self-motivated, has strong organizational skills, has highly accurate typing skills, and the ability to easily learn and navigate a variety of computer programs. They must be able to multi-task and function in a fast-paced hospital environment. The Administrative Associate II maintains frequent, highly confidential interactions with hospital staff, patients, family members, and outside stakeholders and is expected to represent the Social Work Department in a professional manner. Additionally, the selected candidate may be cross-trained in other roles or areas and may be selected to serve as back-up to other support staff.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Scheduling appointments, meetings, and interviews and making travel arrangements
- Recording and disseminating meeting minutes/transcripts
- Composing and processing letters, memos, reports, email posts, etc.
- Compiling data to develop reports
- Maintaining files, daily data entry, and handling of confidential materials
- Answering phones and relaying messages while keeping communication timely and accurate
- Using basic office technology such as a copier, fax machine, computer, label maker, etc.
- Submitting work-orders and requisition requests Being highly proficient use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel)
This position is designated as Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Broughton Hospital operates 382 beds and is one of the three regional psychiatric hospitals with statutory responsibility for operating as part of the Division of State Operated Healthcare Facilities (DSOHF). With the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, we provide help and support to North Carolinians, and their families, experiencing mental illness. Our hospital serves the western thirty-seven (37) counties of North Carolina, as part of the state's system of care and treatment for persons with mental illness.
