We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Admissions Director to lead and manage the admissions process for our Skilled Nursing Facility. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, insurance authorizations, and patient-centered transitions. A clinical background is highly desirable and will be considered a major asset.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary point of contact for all prospective admissions, family inquiries, hospital discharge planners, and referral sources.
Coordinate all aspects of the admissions process, from initial inquiry through the resident's arrival and orientation.
Conduct on-site or virtual assessments to determine clinical appropriateness and payer eligibility.
Work collaboratively with clinical, financial, and administrative teams to ensure seamless and timely admissions.
Maintain positive relationships with referral sources, hospitals, and case managers to promote facility visibility and increase referral volume.
Accurately complete and manage all required pre-admission paperwork, insurance verifications, and documentation.
Track and report admissions data, census development trends, and marketing outcomes.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA and CMS guidelines.
Provide tours and facility information to prospective residents and families with professionalism and compassion.
Assist in planning and executing marketing strategies to enhance community outreach.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of experience in admissions or care coordination within a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or long-term care setting.
Clinical background preferred.
Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care plans, and private insurance policies.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work well with diverse populations.
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Strong computer skills; experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and admissions software.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
Preferred Skills:
Experience conducting clinical assessments and working with hospital discharge planners.
Sales or marketing experience in a healthcare setting.
Familiarity with CRM or census tracking tools.
Bilingual abilities are a plus.
