Job Description Summary
- Maintains travel calendar for individual recruitment in the South Mississippi and Gulf Coast region
- Travels to in-state and out-of-state high schools and community colleges to provide information about the University to prospective students
- Represents the University at college fairs and other recruiting events
- Makes presentations to prospective students, families, counselors and/or groups about the University and the admissions process
- Assists prospective students in the admissions process
- Coordinates with the Enrollment Management staff on marketing campaigns in the designated territory
- Coordinates recruiting events in the designated territory (student parties, counselor luncheons, etc.)
- Assists in the coordination of special recruiting events on campus
- Responsible for continual correspondence (phone calls, texts, emails and other modes of communication) with prospective students regarding the University and admissions process
- Travel to Columbus, MS 5-8 times per year for on-campus events and staff training
- Maintains updated records regarding prospective students and applicants for weekly reporting to the Director of Admissions
- Creates, manages and provides reports to leadership through MUW’s customer relationship management tool (Slate) to track progress towards goals and territory data
- Advises leadership on territory trends that will impact future recruitment efforts
- Some evening and weekend work is required
- Other reasonable duties as assigned
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Master’s degree preferred; seasoned professional knowledge equivalent to a master’s degree required.
Experience:
- Requires three years of experience in education; experience in higher education preferred
- Requires one year of experience in student admissions/recruitment
- Functional knowledge of Slate CRM and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with Banner preferred
- Valid U.S. driver’s license required and personal transportation by which to travel alone for work purposes; must be at least 21 years of age and have an acceptable motor vehicle report

The Assistant Director for Regional Admissions (South MS) is responsible for marketing the University and recruiting prospective students in the South Mississippi and Gulf Coast region. This position will organize and implement recruiting events as well as coordinate with the Executive Director of Enrollment Management and the Director of Admissions on marketing campaigns in the designated territory. The Assistant Director is responsible for consistently meeting, or exceeding, established recruiting goals for incoming freshmen and transfer students.
