Job description

Job Title: Analyst II / Associate Project Manager I

Department: FP&A CFP – R&D, Finance Global Business Services (GBS)

Location: Bangalore, India

Your impact begins here

As Analyst II / Associate Project Manager I, you will bring financial clarity to Novo’s R&D investment portfolio. You will own month-end investment and cost analysis, prepare high-quality input for investment governance meetings and help bring projects onto a single way of working. Partnering with onshore project and finance teams, you will help leaders make well-informed decisions on the investments that move science forward for people living with serious chronic diseases.

What you’ll bring

You are an experienced finance professional who enjoys turning numbers into clear decisions and making processes simpler. You will need:

  • A Master’s degree in Finance or an equivalent qualification.
  • 8–12 years of relevant experience in finance, including project management.
  • Experience in business controlling and other finance disciplines, with a solid understanding of accounting and finance.
  • Strong skills in MS Office and SAP.
  • An analytical, proactive mindset and the drive to solve problems rather than work around them.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, and confidence engaging senior stakeholders.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively across locations and teams.

Useful, but not essential:

  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Working knowledge of Power BI.

What you’ll do

You will own and improve the financial processes that keep the R&D investment portfolio transparent, well-governed and moving at pace. You will:

  • Own the month-end process for investment and cost analysis, including clear commentary on what the numbers mean.
  • Drive accurate month-end closing, including accruals and reposting, together with the accountant and relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare high-quality submissions and presentations for the investment governance (IPG) meeting, and deliver ad hoc analysis in partnership with project management.
  • Identify process gaps, inefficiencies and inconsistencies across projects, and drive harmonisation to a single way of working that reduces cycle time and rework.
  • Report regularly to the PMO and steering stakeholders on contract and payment terms status, open gaps, remediation progress and risk-mitigation actions.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and global standards for contract, payment and invoicing processes, and spot value-creation opportunities based on your business understanding.

Who you’ll work with

You will join the FP&A CFP – R&D Investments team in Finance GBS in Bangalore, reporting to Pingaksha Sinai Neureker (Senior Manager). In Finance, colleagues safeguard the business, provide corporate infrastructure and help create value so Novo can deliver on its purpose.

You will be the single point of contact for onshore project teams and the R&D finance team. Your closest partners will be Investment Directors and Managers, Project Directors and Managers, the Project Management Office and the R&D Investment and Finance team. You will also help drive FP&A and GBS Finance initiatives with your colleagues.

Working between Bangalore and onshore stakeholders, you will keep communication transparent, raise issues early and coordinate across functions so decisions do not stall.

What you can expect here

You will be trusted to own important processes and to make your voice heard on how they can work better. The role gives you close exposure to R&D investment decisions and senior stakeholders, and room to build your skills in finance, project management and process improvement.

You will be part of a team that values proactiveness, honest collaboration and simplifying how we work without compromising on quality. Your contribution will be visible, and you will grow with colleagues on the job and through relevant learning offerings.

We are a global healthcare company, founded in 1923 and headquartered just outside Copenhagen, Denmark. Our purpose is to drive change to defeat serious chronic diseases, built upon our heritage in diabetes. We do so by pioneering scientific breakthroughs, expanding access to our medicines, and working to prevent and ultimately cure the diseases we treat. Our story began over 100 years ago when two small Danish companies started producing the revolutionary new drug, insulin, which had just been discovered by Canadian scientists. These companies, Nordisk Insulinlaboratorium and Novo Terapeutisk Laboratorium, were established by individuals driven by a common goal: to make life-saving insulin available to people with diabetes in Denmark and beyond. August Krogh, a Nobel laureate, and his wife Marie, a physician whose own diabetes fueled their quest, played a pivotal role in bringing insulin production to Denmark, leading to the founding of Nordisk Insulinlaboratorium in 1923. Shortly after, in 1925, the Pedersen brothers, former Nordisk employees, established Novo Terapeutisk Laboratorium, creating a dynamic of competition and innovation that would characterize the Danish pharmaceutical landscape for decades. After years of parallel growth and groundbreaking research, these two entities merged in 1989 to form Novo Nordisk A/S, a company that has since expanded rapidly. Today, we are a world leader not only in diabetes care but also in obesity care, haemophilia care, and therapies for rare endocrine disorders. Our commitment extends beyond developing innovative medicines; we strive to make them accessible to patients worldwide. We employ more than 77,000 people across 80 offices globally and market our products in approximately 170 countries. The Novo Nordisk Way, our set of guiding principles, is rooted in the vision of our founders and continues to inspire our thousands of colleagues. We are dedicated to applying our passion, skills, and commitment to defeat serious chronic diseases that affect hundreds of millions of people and represent some of the most urgent global health challenges. Our U.S. headquarters is located in Plainsboro, New Jersey, playing a vital role in the life sciences industry through sales, marketing, and clinical trial management for all Novo Nordisk U.S. products. We are also significantly investing in manufacturing capabilities, including a $4.1 billion expansion in North Carolina, to meet the growing demand for our diabetes and obesity medications.
