The Fax Partnership is a nonprofit organization focused on supporting the East Colfax Corridor. In partnership with the City of Denver’s Roads to Recovery program, we provide temporary shelter at two former motel properties we own and manage. We are committed to fostering a safe, stable, and welcoming environment for individuals working toward long-term housing.
Position Summary:
The Afternoon/Evening Attendant ensures a smooth transition into the evening hours for shelter guests and supports both safety and intake operations. This position serves as a welcoming presence at the property, working closely with case managers during participant intake and maintaining a visible presence to promote a safe, supportive atmosphere. Duties include assisting with guest intake, monitoring the property, responding to participant needs, and performing light organizational tasks.
Key Responsibilities:Participant Support & Intake:
-Assist case managers with welcoming and orienting new program participants during intake hours.
-Support the collection of required intake documents and initial guest onboarding steps.
-Ensure new guests understand basic property guidelines and are connected to staff as needed.
Safety & Security Monitoring:
-Monitor surveillance cameras and perform occasional walk-throughs of the property.
-Respond to guest needs or property concerns in a calm and professional manner.
-Maintain a log of key activities, observations, or incidents during the shift.
Guest Relations:
-Serve as a point of contact for guest questions and basic support needs.
-Help direct participants to the appropriate resources or staff.
-Maintain a respectful, welcoming, and nonjudgmental demeanor at all times.
Light Cleaning & Organizational Tasks:
-Organize and restock guest cleaning kits or supply bins.
-Tidy common areas as needed during downtime.
-Occasionally assist with light laundry or supply duties when necessary.
Other Duties:
-Adhere to all Fax Partnership policies and procedures.
-Support the overall operation of the shelter as directed by the Program Manager.
Qualifications:
-Prior experience in human services, or shelter programs
-High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
-Strong communication skills and comfort working with people from diverse backgrounds.
-Calm and professional presence, especially during moments of stress or conflict.
-Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow established procedures.
-Ability to work independently and reliably during evening hours.
-Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
-Clear background check with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.
Working Conditions:
-This is a part-time, evening position from 4:00pm–10:00pm, 5 or 6 days per week. Schedule would include Saturday, and a mix of weekdays, depending on number of days preferred by applicant
-Work is primarily indoors at the shelter office.
-Occasional light lifting or movement of supplies may be required.
Compensation:
$20 per hour with benefitsThis position will be a non-exempt hourly position with health care benefits, paid time off and eight holidays a year.
