Agriculture Field Technician

The Agriculture Field Technician is a skilled Diesel Technician with a strong background in heavy equipment repair and maintenance—preferably within the agricultural or construction industries. This hands-on role requires advanced mechanical expertise in diesel engines and hydraulics to perform diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and complex repairs on a variety of equipment. Working independently in the field and at customer sites, this technician must deliver high-quality service in a professional, safe, and timely manner to support branch operations and exceed customer expectations.

Territory: Fairfield County

Pay Range: $20.00 - $39.00/Hourly

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in heavy construction equipment or agriculture equipment is preferred
  • Strong independent work ethic but also able to work collaboratively with a team
  • Excellent customer service skills; a builder of relationships
  • Clear and concise communications
  • A strong sense of urgency, focusing on time
  • Computer skills
  • Valid Driver's License and clean driving record is required
  • Ability to independently lift between 50-75 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical service to equipment.
  • Read job orders
  • Observe and listen to equipment in operation to resolve malfunction issues and execute work procedures effectively.
  • Follow checklists to ensure all critical parts are examined.
  • Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks, and adjust as needed.
  • Test-drive vehicles to ensure that they run smoothly.
  • Tag all warranty parts and return them to the warranty clerk.
  • Attend training classes and keep tabs on factory technical bulletins.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers to increase overall customer happiness.
  • Properly complete the service and/or repairs assigned by the supervisor.
  • Complete all work according to the applicable safety requirements and published procedures.
  • Participate in, and utilize to the best of one’s abilities, technical training as assigned by management.
  • Maintain your designated workspace in an organized and clean manner.
  • Ensure guest vehicles are returned as clean as they were before being serviced.
  • Show the utmost courtesy to all guests, visitors, and dealership personnel.
  • Make every effort to achieve the production objectives set by management.
  • Adhere to the manufacturer’s policies and procedures as they relate to labor operations, time, and repair order documentation when performing warranty repairs and torque specifications.
  • Any other duties as outlined by the Service Supervisor and, or management.
