AI & Automation Engineer
Job description
This is a remote position.
AI & Automation Engineer — LLM Agents (Claude, Python/TypeScript, HubSpot)
Remote | Philippines | Full-Time | Php 150,000/month, negotiable for an exceptional candidate | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM PHT, Mon–Fri (Australian business hours) | Long-Term Remote Role
If you're a high-performing engineer who has shipped real LLM agents into production, thrives on turning messy business processes into reliable AI systems, and wants to work with a well-established Australian solar and electrification company that values strategic impact over simple task completion — keep reading.
This isn't a role for a "Zapier-only workflow builder" or a prompt writer waiting for instructions.
This is a focused, outcome-driven position where you'll find the repetitive work across a growing solar and battery business, recommend what to automate, and build production AI agents that real people rely on every day.
Why This Is a Dream Job
You'll be working directly with the leadership of a respected, family-owned Australian solar and electrification company who:
- Champions Innovation: Is investing seriously in AI, with a defined first project, a long roadmap behind it, and a modern stack (Claude, Claude Code, Skills, MCP, Python/TypeScript, HubSpot API), with voice AI and mobile apps coming next.
- Values Your Growth: Gives you access to an AI-enabled operator community and a dedicated Success Manager (CSM) coaching you through your first 90 days.
- Respects Your Expertise: Wants your recommendations. You'll work directly with the Managing Director to shape an automation roadmap that is reviewed every quarter, not handed a micromanaged task list.
- Builds Stability: Already works with several Filipino professionals across finance and operations and is looking for a long-term team extension.
- Hires Fairly: Runs a practical selection process, including a paid half-day test. You're judged on what you can build.
You'll get career transformation, direct leadership visibility, and the freedom to architect AI systems from working foundations, without being stuck building one-off automations nobody maintains.
What You'll Be Owning
This is a core build-and-ship role covering AI agents, integrations, and process automation. You aren't just connecting apps; you're mapping how work actually gets done, spotting what's worth automating, and delivering documented, measurable AI tools that the team trusts.
You'll take the lead on:
- Production AI Agent Development: Building your first major agent, an AI quality-check agent inside the HubSpot deal workflow that reviews newly sold jobs, then running it in shadow against human reviewers until it hits a 90%+ match rate.
- Process Mapping & Automation Roadmap: Mapping core business workflows with leadership in your first 60 days and delivering a prioritised roadmap covering an AI receptionist, a level 1 support agent, quoting, pricing and admin automation, and two mobile apps.
- Bringing Order to Existing AI Tools: Merging two versions of an existing AI job inspection skill in your first week, then inventorying every existing AI tool and moving them into Git with clear run books.
- Integrations Across the Stack: Connecting systems through REST APIs and webhooks, with HubSpot at the centre (deal workflows, sales pipelines, tickets) and Yeastar, Xero, and Microsoft 365 in the wider picture.
- Platform Recommendations: Evaluating voice AI and support agent options and bringing a written recommendation with costs and trade-offs.
- End-to-End Ownership: Owning everything you build, from concept to production, including documentation, staff training, and accuracy reporting. Training and documentation are part of the job, not something handed off.
Requirements
This Role Is a Great Fit If You:
- Are a Production Agent Builder: You have built and deployed at least one LLM agent that real users rely on (Claude preferred), and you can show it via GitHub, Loom, or a live demo, explain how it works, and tell us how you measured its accuracy. Chatbot-only or prompt-only experience does not qualify.
- Write Real Code: You work in Python or TypeScript and use Git every day.
- Are an Integration Specialist: You connect systems through REST APIs and webhooks, ideally with hands-on CRM API experience (HubSpot is a big plus).
- Are a Process Thinker: You map workflows, spot automation opportunities, and bring recommendations instead of waiting to be told what to build.
- Measure Before You Claim: You use test sets, shadow runs, or logs to prove accuracy, and you can talk openly about where your agents break and what you did about it.
- Document by Habit: Every build has a README, and someone else could run your systems from your run book.
- Are High-Accountability: You don't need to be chased for updates. You're reliable, meet deadlines, and own your mistakes as much as your wins.
- Communicate with Clarity: You can explain an agent's behaviour, limits, and errors in plain English to sales, technical, and admin staff, in writing and on a call.
- Can Commit to the Schedule: You have no existing commitment that overlaps Australian business hours.
Genuine differentiators (not requirements): Claude Code, Skills, and MCP; voice AI; React Native, Flutter, or PWA development; Xero API; Microsoft 365; serverless (AWS Lambda, Netlify functions).
What Success Looks Like
After 60–90 Days:
- Quick Win Delivered: The AI job inspection skill is merged into a single version in Git with clear documentation, completed in week one.
- The Roadmap Is Set: Core workflows are mapped and a prioritised automation roadmap is agreed with leadership, with the first quarterly review booked.
- The QC Agent Is Proving Itself: Your quality-check agent is running in shadow on newly sold jobs, with weekly match-rate reporting against human reviewers.
- Existing Tools Are Under Control: Every AI tool is inventoried, the main ones are in Git, and the run book is under way.
- Trust Is Earned: Staff using your tools are trained, every change is documented, and leadership has your written recommendation for the receptionist and support agent platforms.
Final Word
If you've ever thought:
"I've shipped real AI agents, I write solid code, and I think in systems. I just want a company that's serious about AI, gives me a real roadmap, and values my technical depth and recommendations." This is that role.
Let's build long-term success — together.
