Scratch Cafe in downtown Petoskey is currently hiring experienced Bakers for breads and pastries.
Daily Baking Responsibilities include:
-Mixing, Rising, Scaling, Proofing and baking bread from scratch to produce English Muffins, Rustic Loaves, Baguettes, Hamburger Buns and Multigrain.
-Scratch pastry production which includes cream and fruit pies, layer cakes, scones, cookies, berry bars and seasonal pastry products.
-Additional products that come from our baking team is homemade pasta, fruit jams, lemon curd, ricotta cheese and crackers.
Ideal candidate is reliable, trustworthy, punctual, considerate and respectful of coworkers, sanitary, fast and efficient. Must have a love, appreciation and vast knowledge for beautiful cuisine produced, not by a factory or machine, but by human hands. Must work well as an important member of a team.
MUST have experience in scratch kitchens, possess excellent knife skills, have the ability to properly follow precise recipes as well as be flawless at kitchen math.
Must be able to work independently and problem solve without direction.

Typical schedule with seasonal variations: 4-5 days per week, 5pm-11pm or 11 pm-6am. Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
