An Assistant Administrator for an Independent Living facility helps the Administrator manage daily operations, ensuring high-quality care and resident satisfaction. This role involves supporting staff, maintaining a safe environment, and handling administrative tasks. Specific duties include assisting with resident care, managing staffing and scheduling, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities
- Assisting with resident admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Responding to residents and family concerns and complaints.
- Monitoring resident care performance and teamwork among staff.
- Helping to maintain a safe work environment and promoting resident safety.
- Assisting with employee performance evaluations and staffing requirements.
- Participating in employee training and cross-training.
- Supporting the Administrator in fostering a positive work environment.
- Assisting with the development and implementation of facility policies and procedures.
- Maintaining resident and personnel files in compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
- Managing staffing schedules and ensuring adequate coverage.
- Assisting with the development and management of facility budgets.
- Communicating effectively with the Administrator, Senior Management, and other staff.
- Maintaining open communication with residents, families, and visitors.
- Collaborating with other departments and healthcare providers.
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.
- Assisting with the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to resident care and safety.
- Staying informed about changes in health services and regulations.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Prefer a bachelor’s or higher degree in public health, healthcare administration, or business.
- Prefer two or more years of leadership experience in a Memory Care Unit, Resident Care Facility, and or Assisted Living Facility.
- Must maintain and have an active CPR/BLS during employment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors, and the public
- Be an outstanding communicator, coach, and mentor
- Demonstrate credibility, discipline, follow-through, consistency, and strong team orientation through leadership
- Experience with financial reporting and managing budgets
- Experience with operations and/or staffing management
- Able to supervise employees using independent judgment and discretion
- Comfortable using computers for daily tasks, including email communication, document creation, and data entry
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly
