Bestday Camp is seeking an experienced assistant director / Kinder prep lead teacher for our preschool. In this hybrid position, the ideal candidate will teach a kinder prep class from 8am to 2pm, then come up to the office the remainder of the day to assist with administrative duties.
In this role, it is important to have excellent communication skills and an extroverted personality. You are expected to be welcoming, friendly and fair to all staff, families, children, and outside vendors. We are looking for a team player that can take the initiative to help our school run smoothly! Must be self motivated and able to take initiative.
Required Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Bilingual Spanish is a plus!)
- DCF 45 hour training complete
- Staff credential and/or degree in a related field.
- At least 1 year experience in child care management
- At least 1 year experience teaching

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Teaching
- Lead a kinder-prep class using the Bestday curriculum to ensure academic success of all children.
Licensing
- Maintaining student and staff files to comply with licensing requirements.
- Reviewing licensing requirements regularly to ensure compliance.
- Inspecting classrooms and playground routinely for violations.
- Communicate all licensing related information to the director.
Reception/ general
- Welcome people as they enter the school
- Provide administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office
- Answer and direct phone calls, take messages, and respond to inquiries
- Prepare and distribute mailings, correspondence, memos, letters, and forms
- Maintain filing systems, both electronic and physical
- Assist with document preparation, proofreading, and editing
- Assist with event planning and coordination
- Perform general office duties such as maintaining supplies and office equipment - Input data into google sheets
- Notifying families of outstanding paperwork as necessary, including tracking the expiration dates of required paperwork to keep the files up-to-date.
- Completing medication authorizations & checking-in medication
- Communicating with families regarding any questions or concerns
New Enrollments
- Schedule and conduct tours for potential new enrollments.
- Respect and maintain the confidentiality of student, family and school information.
- Distributing, collecting, and reviewing all paperwork required from all families.
- Creating and maintaining family files upon enrollment and throughout attendance
- Creating and maintaining Brightwheel profile for all students
Staff
- As a member of the admin team all work relationships must be professional regardless of personal differences.
- Maintaining professional conduct and attitudes in working with parents and staff as well as visitors and the general public
- Creating and maintaining staff files as it pertains to licensing compliance in conjunction with the director.
- Organizing monthly staff meetings
- Meeting with staff as necessary to resolve conflict.
- Serving as substitute teacher, as needed
Facility
- Creating and maintaining allergy lists, no photo lists, emergency drill log, accident reports and attendance sheets
- Maintaining supply of office products and school supplies
- Maintaining cleanliness of school, including vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning windows in front of house
- Completing other administrative projects as approved by the director.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
