Job Summary
The Child Care Assistant Director plays a crucial role in supporting the overall management and operation of a child care facility. This position involves collaborating with the Director to ensure a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. The Assistant Director will also engage with staff, parents, and the community to promote quality care and educational programs that meet the developmental needs of children.
Duties
- Assist in the daily operations of the child care facility, ensuring compliance with licensing regulations and organizational policies.
- Support the Director in developing and implementing educational programs that foster children's growth and learning.
- Educate staff on best practices in child development and effective teaching strategies.
- Supervise and mentor staff, providing guidance and support to enhance their professional development.
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding their children's progress and any concerns that may arise.
- Collaborate with local schools and community organizations to promote partnerships that benefit children and families.
- Participate in recruitment, training, and evaluation of staff members to ensure high-quality care is provided.
Experience
- Proven experience working with students in an educational or child care setting is essential.
- A background in education administration or higher education teaching is preferred.
- Familiarity with university-level educational practices can be advantageous.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team are essential for success in this role.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, staff, and community partners are required.
