About This Role:
The Assistant Director of Finance & Accounting supports the Director in managing accounting and finance operations for Our World Energy. This role is integral to accurate reporting, financial planning, and compliance across solar projects and corporate operations. You will help drive process improvements, project-level analysis, and team development while ensuring alignment with the company’s financial strategy.
Job Responsibilities

Support the Director in managing finance and accounting operations, including project accounting, payroll, and reconciliations.

Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and analysis for corporate and solar project operations.

Prepare financial reports, variance analyses, and dashboards for management review.

Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and renewable energy incentives.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize financial performance and reporting accuracy.

Provide mentorship and guidance to accounting staff as assigned.

Serve as backup to the Director in their absence and help implement process improvements.
Required Qualifications

5+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience in corporate or project-based environments.

Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

Knowledge of project accounting or energy/solar project finance preferred.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Leadership or mentorship experience is a plus.
Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).

Advanced degree a plus but not required.

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Required Skills

Strong organizational and analytical abilities.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Knowledge of solar finance, project accounting, or renewable energy incentives preferred.
