Job Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all accounting and finance operations, including project accounting, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.
- Develop, implement, and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls for corporate and project-level operations.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, forecasts, and budgets.
- Analyze financial performance of solar projects, including revenue, costs, and ROI, and provide recommendations to leadership.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, federal, state, local regulations, and renewable energy incentives (e.g., ITC, tax credits).
- Collaborate with executive leadership to drive strategic financial planning and business growth.
- Manage external relationships with auditors, banks, investors, and financial partners.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to finance and accounting team members.
- Evaluate and implement financial systems, tools, and processes to support scalability.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience in corporate or project-based environments.
- Experience in energy, solar, or renewable energy industries required.
- Leadership experience managing teams and complex finance operations.
- Demonstrated experience with financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting for high-growth or project-driven companies.
- Strong understanding of accounting standards, financial regulations, and internal controls.
- Track record of supporting strategic business decisions with financial insights.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
- Advanced degree (MBA or Master’s in Finance) preferred but not required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Required Skills
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software and financial systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Knowledge of solar project finance, renewable energy incentives, and energy-related accounting best practices preferred.
