Woodlake at New Hope is a resident-centered long-term care and skilled nursing facility located in New Hope, Minnesota. We are dedicated to providing high-quality care while fostering a safe and supportive environment for residents and staff. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Director of Nursing to join our clinical leadership team and help ensure excellence in care, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Position Summary
The Assistant Director of Nursing is responsible for overseeing the facility’s infection prevention and control (IPC) program and staff education initiatives. This dual-role nurse will develop, implement, and evaluate policies, procedures, and training programs that promote resident safety and reduce infection risks while supporting staff development and clinical competency.
Key Responsibilities
Infection Control Duties:
- Manage the facility’s Infection Prevention and Control Plan in accordance with CDC, CMS, and state guidelines
- Conduct infection surveillance, data tracking, and trend analysis
- Report infections to appropriate local and state health authorities
- Develop, review, and revise infection control policies and procedures
- Lead outbreak investigations and coordinate with the Department of Health as needed
- Provide ongoing education and support related to standard precautions, PPE, isolation protocols, and vaccination
Education Duties:
- Develop and deliver onboarding and annual training for clinical and non-clinical staff
- Maintain records of in-service trainings, competencies, and continuing education
- Provide clinical skills assessments and remediation as needed
- Assist in developing clinical policies and best practices
- Support staff development initiatives to improve resident care outcomes
Qualifications
- Current RN or LPN license in good standing with the Minnesota Board of Nursing (RN preferred)
- Infection Preventionist Certification or willingness to complete approved IPC training (e.g., CDC Nursing Home IPC course) within 6 months of hire
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility
- Prior experience in staff education, infection control, or quality assurance is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of CMS regulations, state health codes, and best practices in infection prevention
- Excellent communication, organizational, and teaching skills

Pay: $90,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
