The Organization:
Homeward Bound is the leading nonprofit organization in Buncombe County focused on preventing and
ending homelessness using the best practice Housing First model. We work collaboratively with
community partners and have a proven track record of helping individuals and families achieve housing
stability. Since 2006, Homeward Bound has moved more than 2,615 people off the streets, out of cars,
camps, and shelters and into permanent housing.
Position:
The Assistant Veteran’s Program Director will be responsible for collaborating with and assisting the Director of Veteran Rapid Rehousing and Homelessness Prevention, overseeing all functions of the Supportive Services for Veteran Families team with a focus on ensuring program effectiveness, positive client outcomes, and lasting solutions to homelessness. This includes supporting and providing direct supervision to the SSVF Program Managers who provide direct supervision to the rapid rehousing case managers, shallow subsidies case manager, homeless prevention case managers, outreach specialists, and the health care navigator. The Assistant Director will work closely with the Director of Veteran Rapid Rehousing and Homeless Prevention to ensure compliance and a high level of service-delivery, in addition to strategic decision-making to drive the program forward.
Schedule and compensation: This is a full time, exempt position, paid bi-weekly on a salary basis. Annual starting salary is $60,000.00.
