The Assistant Coach for Football assists the head coach with program management, including practice planning, recruitment, player development, and competition strategy implementation. The Assistant Football Coach will support all aspects of the NCAA Division III Football program at Dean College, ensuring compliance with NCAA, MASCAC, and Dean College standards, rules, and regulations.
This is a 10-month, part-time, non-exempt position.
Position responsibilities include:
- Assist in the implementation of the sport training and instructional program under the direction of the head coach by providing sport skill instruction, assisting in the conduct of practice sessions, performing game-related duties, and motivating players to give their best efforts.
- Recruit prospective student-athletes effectively as assigned by and under the direction of the head coach.
- Serve as a liaison with academic support personnel in support of players' academic efforts.
- Act as a liaison with the athletic training and strength and conditioning staff to support the conditioning and rehabilitation of players.
- Aid with administrative tasks, including fundraising and community service activities.
- Additional responsibility as assigned or required.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree, required.
- Master's degree and/or coaching certification, preferred.
- Playing experience at the collegiate level and 3-5 years of experience as an assistant coach, preferred.
