Job description

Department and Purpose of the Position

As an Assistant Manager/Senior Assistant Manager in Medical Affairs – Clinical Governance (MACG), you play a crucial role in managing the quality and safety training and quality assurance work that impact the quality and growth of the hospital under MACG and assigned programme

Job Responsibilities

  1. Run the QI workshop programme (main part of the job)
    • Plan and deliver the yearly QI workshops: schedules, venues, logistics and publicity.
    • Handle registrations, communications with clinical departments and faculty, and project proposal submissions and approvals.
    • Match faculty to project teams and organise the first, mid-point and final project reviews.
    • Track deadlines and keep policies, templates and checklists up to date.

  2. Quality and safety
    • Coordinate clinical quality and safety training.
    • Manage incidents and serious reportable events, and do root cause analysis (RCA).

  3. Data and reporting
    • Analyse quality and safety data.
    • Build metrics and dashboards, and prepare reports and presentations.

  4. Admin and stakeholders
    • Support the Quality Assurance and Clinical Services committees and take minutes.
    • Update the department's website and communication materials.
    • Work with clinicians, administrators and patients.

  5. Process improvement
    • Improve how the work gets done, including using digital tools.

What they need

  • A degree in healthcare administration, public health or a related field. A Master's is a plus.
  • Experience in healthcare quality and safety, or in project management.
  • Knowledge of QI methods and patient-safety principles.
  • Good data analysis and reporting skills, plus MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong programme coordination and stakeholder management.
  • Organised, a clear communicator, and able to work under pressure.
  • Experience with healthcare data systems, AI or automation is a bonus.
