MassDevelopment is seeking an Assistant Program Manager to provide essential programmatic and project management support to our Planning Department within the Real Estate Division. This role is ideal for a proactive, organized professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about making a difference across cities and towns throughout the Commonwealth.
Reporting to the SVP of Real Estate Planning, the Assistant Program Manager will be responsible for supporting division-wide programs, tracking key data, and coordinating both internal and external initiatives. This position helps drive operational efficiency within the Planning Department while working cross-functionally with colleagues throughout the agency. In addition, the role may serve as a regional representative of the Real Estate team, working with municipalities and regional partners to support community-focused development projects.
In addition to Boston, this position is also available in Worcester and Springfield. Final placement will be based on candidate preference and proximity to project sites.
What You’ll Do
- Program Management: Manage program databases and project work plans, including budgets, timelines, and documentation.
- Administrative and Financial Support: Coordinate invoice tracking, expense coding, and procurement activities, and support the contracting and vendor management process.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Track performance metrics, support regular reporting, and assist in developing case study materials to highlight program impact.
- Meeting and Event Coordination: Assist with planning and facilitating internal meetings, community workshops, and other events.
- External Relations and Communications: Collaborate on content creation for external communications, build relationships with partners, and may serve as a division representative on a regional team.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Support internal collaboration and contribute to new agency initiatives as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Public Policy, Real Estate, Business, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience).
- Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in a project management or administrative support role.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and online database tools.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion principles.
- Experience working with municipal or nonprofit stakeholders is preferred.
- Bilingual skills and/or familiarity with graphic/visual content creation are a plus.
