Assistant Studio Coordinator & Assistant Editor (Part-Time, Contract) Houston, TX – In-Person Only
Speakerbox Media is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable team member to support our in-studio shoots and post-production workflow. This is a behind-the-scenes role for someone who loves systems, organization, and helping great content come to life.
This is not a side hustle or a freelance juggling act. We’re building a committed team of people who want to grow with us - people who show up on time, take ownership of their responsibilities, and bring consistency to a fast-moving creative environment.
Not the Right Fit If You:
- Have a scattered or inconsistent job history
- Lack of experience with media workflows or fast-paced production environments
Requirements:
- 1+ year of experience in a production or post-production support role
- Basic proficiency in DaVinci Resolve or similar editing software
- Familiarity with Blackmagic cameras is a plus, but not required
- Comfortable with tools like Teamwork, Google Drive, and file management systems
- Strong attention to detail and time management
- Able to commute to our Houston studio reliably
Your Mission:
Support our studio operations and post team by making sure everything behind the scenes runs on time, on target, and without chaos. You’re not the lead editor or director—but your organization, consistency, and technical readiness will make or break every shoot and delivery.
Your role includes:
- Prepping and resetting the studio on shoot days
- Assisting with camera and gear setup
- Pulling selects and syncing footage after shoots
- Keeping project files organized and delivery-ready
- Light editing (15–60 sec cutdowns, reels, file prep)
- Staying aligned with deadlines and tasks in Teamwork
Production & Efficiency:
- Studio setup is complete within 60 minutes of arrival
- Help record 3–4 episodes per shoot day
- Maintain organized project folders with correct file labeling
- Upload assets for post and client review within 24–48 hours
Post-Production:
- Edit and export short-form content as needed (2–3 clips per shoot)
- Prep timelines and organize media for the lead editor
- Ensure all edits meet basic formatting and brand standards
- Keep track of deadlines and task updates inside Teamwork
Engagement & Impact:
- File organization reduces post-turnaround times by 20–30%
- Edited reels maintain an Average View Duration of 50% or higher
- All deliverables uploaded with correct filenames, formats, and structure
- Studio environment is consistently efficient, clean, and shoot-ready
Schedule:
While we aim to schedule all shoots and editing sessions between 8 AM and 5 PM Monday – Friday, occasional evening or weekend work may be required. We’ll always communicate early and work with your schedule to keep things balanced.
Occasional travel may be required.
