Associate Tech Support Analyst - Chaska, MN

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Be part of a 7×24 team that operates and monitors critical electrical, mechanical and fire/life safety systems within an Optum Technology’s enterprise data center
  • Monitor and operate Siemens Building Management System (BMS)
  • Troubleshoot issues to help ensure 100% uptime
  • Perform recurring maintenance on data center mechanical and electrical assets, posting results to INFOR Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Be able to work independently and with a team managing multiple priorities and interruptions
  • Communicate regularly with peers on shift and project turnovers and on operational changes
  • Suggest improvements in the quality, integrity, and efficiency of operations
  • Use Service Now change management for creation of change control and incident records
  • Use computer-based Microsoft Operating Systems
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills for discussion of technical matters
  • Generally, work is self-directed and not prescribed

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of experience maintaining safety regulation policy
  • Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds
  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time, climb ladders, walk on catwalks and be comfortable working in elevated positions on lifts and platforms
  • Ability to adapt to temporary shift schedule changes required to deal with absences of peers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience operating key electrical assets, including Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), Power Distribution Units (PDU) or Generators
  • 2+ years of experience operating key mechanical assets, including Chillers, Cooling Towers, Water Treatment Systems, Computer Room Air Conditioners (CRAC), Pumps, Sumps or Leak Detection Systems
  • 2+ years of experience using key Fire/Life Safety Systems (FLS), including Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus (VESDA) and Pre-action Sprinkler Systems
  • 2+ years of experience operating and manipulating Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
  • 2+ years of experience working with building automation (Siemens) operating mechanical equipment
  • Understanding of water treatment in regard to process cooling water
  • Experience working with CMMS (computer maintenance management software) program to complete preventive maintenance work orders
  • MN journeymen electrical license or the ability to attain one
  • MN Low Pressure Boilers license
  • Ability to learn mechanical and electrical systems within the data center

The salary range for this role is $28.61 to $56.06 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
